Africa's Riches and the Global Impact

Africa is endowed with wealth far surpassing that of any other continent, making it both vulnerable and envied by the world. Unfortunately, deceit has become a common tactic for foreign nations to rob Africa and its people of their rightful resources. As a result, both the land and its inhabitants have endured significant losses due to the actions of these nations.

Imagine what the world would look like if Africa and all its resources vanished for just one day. This scenario is reminiscent of the skit entitled, “A World Without Black People.” According to Google, “A day without Africa would erase the bedrock of global civilization, technology, and economy.” The absence of African resources would halt transportation, communication, and the production of electronics, coffee, cocoa, and diamonds, cobalt, gold... Additionally, we would lose invaluable contributions from the people, such as advancements in mathematics, medicine, architecture, and even the animals in zoos. Not to mention the wealth amassed from the free laborer stolen from Africa. The absence of Africa's contributions would trigger a collapse of modern infrastructure worldwide.

Despite being the wealthiest continent, Africa produces the least amount of wealth for its indigenous peoples. As Malcolm X eloquently stated in his 1946 speech, “The Ballot or the Bullet,” referring to Black Americans: “You been took, you been hoodwinked, bamboozled, led astray, run amok!” This sentiment equally applies to our brothers and sisters and ocean away. It is crucial that we reprogram, reeducate, and rededicate ourselves for our upliftment.

ABC African Adventures: A Path to Understanding

ABC African Adventures serves as an educational resource that highlights some of the contributions of Africa. In the film, The Lion King, Mufasa teaches Simba about his kingdom, stating, “everything the light touches,” emphasizing that a king's duty is to protect and respect the land and maintain its true cycle not abuse and destroy it. As Americans of African descent, we were initially forced to abandon our kingdom through the horrors of slavery. Since then, many have chosen to abandon it willingly, perhaps due to a lack of education or brainwashing.

The ABC African Adventures collection, including a storybook, a workbook, and a set of Africana Learning Cards. It showcases some of the contributions the continent. It's suitable for all ages, making them timeless tools for learning. They were created to ignite an interest in discovering the real Africa, not the distorted version we've historically encountered. Stay hungry for knowledge and truth as we unite to reclaim our kingdom.

Until our next blog, find yourself some 'Good Trouble' to disturb the peace of the status quo.
