Birthday

You only have one true birthday, and that is your first. Every subsequent celebration is an anniversary of that initial day, until your rebirth. The day you transition is what I am labeling your rebirth. It’s the next stage of your journey.

On that warm spring morning in May 1995, the McNabb family was brimming with joy and excitement. Smiles radiated throughout as we eagerly awaited the arrival of our newest family member, completing the fourth member of our clan.

On another delightful warm spring day in May, years later, the McNabb family and youngs friends were filled with joy and excitement as we celebrated Jahi's birthday anniversary. Smiles lit up our kitchen as Jahi clutched his birthday balloons, singing "Happy Birthday" to himself at the top of his lungs.

In the years leading up to the Fall of 2023, smiles were a rare occurrence, and the atmosphere felt heavy with tension. Mom pondered where the joy had vanished and struggled to recall the last time she saw a smile on her younger son’s face, wondering if it would ever return. The Fall of 2023 marked his rebirth. Our forever 28 year old ancestor.
